THE IMPERIOUS DORK.co.cc IS NOW OPEN!

Now Open

Hello, guys!

THE IMPERIOUS DORK now goes online! (Well, it has been, but I just formally announced that it is. Hehehe.)

I have yet a lot to work on this site as of this moment. Posts to make everyday, additional pages for the blog, plus the Gallery and the Media sites are not up yet. I've yet to work on them next weekend. As for the Forum site, I have already installed the phpBB engine, but no content or any customizations yet.

Don't worry. I'm still present in my usual hangouts--Plurk, Multiply, Facebook, Friendster, and Twitter, among others.

Well, for now, I have to save my energies for another workweek--whew!

SIGH...

At long last, after six years of struggling and hardships, fightbacks and kneeldowns, joys and sorrows, I am about to be in what had been denied of me a year ago...

I'm finally gonna march!!! Woohoo!!!

And this is unconventional (on our part, though it has become commonplace among the usual academia), because it's gonna happen on school grounds. Well, at the Ugnayang La Salle, DLSU-Dasmarinas's gymnasium-turned-multipurpose arena. In all fairness, besides the convenience and heavier solemnity, improvements were significant.

Enough about the ULS, now to me. While my fellow graduates are just starting, I have already been into the workplace. In fact, I had to take leave just to attend the different ceremonies entailed with graduation (rehearsals, baccalaureate mass, ceremony--I just hope my boss approved them on paper).

Sigh... anytime now, I'm leaving...

* * * * *

And speaking of leaving, my mom and my nephew's gonna be leaving tomorrow night for Jeddah, KSA. They won't be around until next two months.

Sigh. I'm gonna be alone. No one to control my impulsive spending. I have to rely on myself.

* * * * *

And speaking on spending, looks like my spending power's gonna be significantly reduced. I'm expecting an estimated Php3,000 cut in pay this payday (due to the absences, plus the late last week).

Plus, my boss just gave me a yellow card due to lates. Sigh.

* * * * *

Oh, well. I'll be posting photos of my graduation, as well as my brother's (he's just graduated from high school last Satuday, and he's gonna be in college this year). Maybe later after graduation.

See you, guys!

I AM NO LONGER THE 22-YEAR-OLD DORKY KID :: Plus a Meaningful Birthday Celebration

"Valentine's Day isn't just for lovers--it's for everyone."

Well, my friend got a point.

I never had a very meaningful birthday celebration such as this. I mean, during my past birthdays, either I celebrate only with my family or myself.

This time, it was so different.

I had it with a few friends, and as always, with my family.

I am not that extravagant as some may expect, throwing a big party on a Valentine's Day (which is oxymoronic), but we had a get-together, pigging out on sushi.

Then I led my friends to the epic fireworks display, which my friends really enjoyed.

After which, I brought home pizza and donuts for my family to enjoy.

Nothing much, just a series of simple celebrations.

Simple but meaningful.

The "meaning" in meaningful? It's best to celebrate Valentine's Day (or should I quote my friend, Single Awareness Day or S.A.D.) with people you LOVE--friends, family, partner, fans, etc.

* * * * *

I would like to thank those who celebrated my birthday with me: Aaron, Nikko, Adolfo, Maric, Alain, and my family.

To Raf, who wasn't able to come (but we'll find a way to celebrate it again), thanks a bunch.

To those who greeted me, thanks a million.

Just I have said, I am no longer the 22-year-old dorky kid.

I am now the 23-year-old dorky kid.

Doesn't make any differance, eh?

SUPER LOADED

I had this post titled "LOADED" in Multiply, telling how many appointments I need to have fulfilled in two days. Now, as I go back to a non-luxurious lifestyle, from almost week of eating out at high-end restaurants, here goes a load of work to do.

* * * * *

Before I continue, I've been re-organizing my Multiply contacts. And I receive feedback from some of them, one of which I keep on inviting on contact change on the basis of real-life relationships. Hmm... No offense meant, but just because I change you from friend to colleague doesn't actually mean I change our relationships in real life. To explain myself more, I apply the standard relationships in Multiply, based on how we met in the first place, regardless of current real-life relationships:

- Colleagues :: my co-members in the Heraldo Filipino
- Fraternity Brothers/Sorority Sisters :: my fellahs from the student councils and organizations
- Aunts/Uncles :: my teachers
- Classmates :: blockmates, classmates
- Brothers :: Lasallian Brothers
- other family relationships :: real-life
- Online Buddies :: those I don't know personally, met thru Multiply via invites

Other classifications are upon my discretion. Questions? Mack me. ^_^

* * * * *

Anyway, where was I? Yeah, yesternight was a bang. The Heraldo Filipino reunion was a big success. Thanks to everyone who attended. And kudos to Joanna, who thought of it in the first place, George and Upper for spreading the word, JP for reserving Gerry's for us, and again, everyone, who made it possible. It was very memorable, seeing your colleagues and friends after--more than three or four or more years... Wow.

Pictures? I have some shots here. You might wanna see more photos from George, Upper, James, and the rest of the HF guys and gals.

* * * * *

Now, back to topic. More projects, more thesis, more BS to manage. And planning for my b-day counts. Oh, well, in fact, so loaded, I don't wanna tire you any further.

* * * * *

Jaja, at last, we've met. Let's do it again this Wednesday! Tsoko.Dot.Nut uli! Woohoo!

* * * * *

The DORK is off for now. See you, kids!

LOADED

Hah... it's gonna be a loaded weekend.

Here's my to-do's for Saturday and Sunday:

- meet Aaron (my thesis partner) up and have the thesis printed and bound
- attend two reunions: JOU Batch 4 on Saturday at Gerry's/Josephine's Tagaytay, and HF on Sunday at Gerry's MOA
- pay the bills handed over to me by my parents
- canvass for books to be given to the school library for clearance

Few, but so intense.

How about you? What will your weekend be?

Anyway, happy weekend, guys!

THE IMPERIOUS DORK @ WORK

Well, what do you know? I didn't even realize it's been a month since I had been employed as a graphic designer for a leading game servicing company. And thanks to my new job, I have more spending power. (Treats? Maybe next time.)

And by the way, our thesis is about to be done (or so says my thesis partner--he told me we can forgo the technical editing and have it printed right away).

And at the end of January and the start of February, I'll have two different engagements.

So, guys, how are you? I'm doing fine. Amid detractors and backstabbers, I am still alive and kicking.

Well, I may have interrupted your routines. Just keep going on with your lives, like what I am doing right now.
